Ghanaian Man Stabbed His Wife 15 times, Then Sent Her A Christmas Card As She Lay Dying In Hospital

Minta Adiddo                                         Akua Agyeman
A husband has been jailed for 17 years after he killed his wife by stabbing her at least 15 times then running her over with his car because he thought she was having an affair with a neighbour. Minta Adiddo sent Akua Agyeman a Christmas card as she was being treated in hospital, blaming the attack on 'devils', the Old Bailey heard. The 32-year-old mother of two died two months after the brutal stabbing, which was witnessed by her five-year-old daughter.
Adiddo, 38, was today given a life sentence after being convicted of murder, with a minimum term of 17 years.
The Sainsbury's worker from Enfield, North London, had pleaded guilty to manslaughter, although he denied murder. The court heard he suspected his wife was having an affair with their neighbour Oledapo Etti-Williams in October 2012. Mr Etti-Williams denied it, but said they exchanged three to four 'sometimes flirtatious' texts a day - and phone records showed they had sometimes sent as many as 80 messages in one day. On November 5, Adiddo stabbed his wife with a large kitchen knife in their bedroom while their one-year-old daughter slept in a cot next to them.

The Parking Lot At The American University Of Dubai! (Pictures)

Judging by the car park at the American University of Dubai students here are not going to struggle with making ends meet.

A Rolls-Royce, a Ferrari and a black Aston Martin, which wouldn't look out of place in a Bond film, line the student car park row after row.

The gallery of supercars was taken by student Meeka Nasser who wanted to show the world the array of models on show at the university.

He said: 'I attend the American University of Dubai and the cars that students drive here are just ludicrous.

'If I was back home in Canada my car would be considered nice, but here nobody looks twice at it.

'These pictures were taken in the span of a couple days and only in one of the parking lots of the school, so this isn't even close to all of the nice cars at the school.

'Because Cayennes and Range Rovers are a dime a dozen here, I only included a few of them in the album" he said.

'Keep in mind, almost all of the students are between [/b]18 and 24 years old[/b], as the graduate programe is pretty tiny here.

'The students that drive the insanely expensive cars (Rolls Royces and Bentleys etc.) are usually local (Emirati), and Asian (middle eastern Asia)for those wondering.'

Kelechi Iheanacho To Sign For Manchester City

FIFA U17 World Cup MVP Kelechi Iheanacho has left the Super Eagles camp to finalise his move to EPL side Manchester City.

Iheanacho, 17, had earlier favoured a move to Portuguese champions FC Porto before a family meeting decided he take up an offer from Manchester City.

Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has approved the departure of the youngster after his father, James Iheanacho, personally put a call to him on Monday afternoon requesting the release of his son for the trip to England.

“Initially, a young man came declaring that he was the agent of Iheanacho, but I declined to deal with him until I heard from the family because the boy is still a minor,” Keshi said.

“It was soon after my rejection that I got a call from his father who told me that they have got a visa to the United Kingdom and that I should oblige him with his son’s release. I did and told the young man to go and do the nation proud at whichever club he finally chooses to settle down with”.

Iheanacho has shone in Eagles training ahead of next year’s CHAN and Keshi described him as a talented player, but warned that the player should be handled professionally to reach the height of his career.

Bank worker murdered in stance circumstances

Rosemond Nyampong
A 32-year-old employee of Stanbic Bank was found dead in her home at Baatsona in Accra after she had gone missing for a while.

Rosemond Nyampong’s family members found her body in a pool of blood on November 21, 2013 after she had failed to report for work that fateful day.

Colleagues of the deceased who knew her to be punctual at work prompted the family after calls to her mobile phones indicated that they had been switched off.

A family elder, Mr Sampson Amoah Nyampong, told the Daily Graphic that friends of the deceased, after trying to reach her on her phones without success, went to the house where she lived alone and found the doors locked, while her car was not parked in the compound.

He said about 1 p.m. on that day, the friends contacted the family to inquire about Ms Nyampong, who, until her death, worked in the Credit Department at the bank’s head office.

About 5 p.m., after all efforts to reach Ms Nyampong on her phones and searches at all places that she could have been had failed, the family members contacted the police for permission to break into her house for clues to her whereabouts.

“When we entered the compound, we found blood there and when we broke into the house we found her in a pool of blood in her kitchen,” Mr Nyampong said.

Ms Nyampong was found dead in her dark skirt suit uniform which suggested that she was dressed up for work when she was killed.

Her body was found lying prostrate, with her nose and mouth tied with a blood-soaked piece of cloth.

There were no injury marks on her body.

The couple who have a son, Walker Diggs, had earlier complained of difficulties in maintaining a long distance marriage with Menzel emphasising the difficulties of being in Los Angeles while also having to be in New York for work.

It’s those kind of decisions that torture me all the time.”

Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel met as members of the original Broadway cast of Rent in 1995 and tied the knot on January 11, 2003.

Mst Read: Mandela Was Angry With Nigeria - Dr. Hakeem Baba-ahmed

It was literally a life-long ambition, and I used every opportunity to meet the old man in person. I was finally in a position to press buttons and call old friends to render favours, and in early 2007 I succeeded. I was told I could see Mandela for only 30 minutes at his home, but I needed to get there one hour earlier. Colleagues I had leaned on were skeptical that I would see him despite the appointment, particularly since I will not say it was official. An old South African friend and course mate from South Africa who helped, suggested I asked questions or matters I wanted to discuss with him and send them in advance. I did not think that was the type of meeting I wanted, so I did not.

Mandela was surprised when he was told I worked at the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but had spent 6 months trying to see him to pay my personal respects. Why did you not go through your colleagues here? I told him the visit was not official. I just wanted to meet him. He relaxed and apologized that it had taken that long for me to see him. Others left us, except a lady who sat discreetly away from us. I thought she was a medical person.

FRSC ICE Number Initiative (In Case Of Emergency)

Federal Road Safety Commission has just come out with the concept of “ICE”..Please read carefully, it may save your life or that of someone you know

"We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory. If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this 'ICE' (In Case of Emergency) Campaign. The concept of 'ICE' is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As mobile phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name 'ICE' ( In Case Of Emergency). The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents there were always mobile phones with patients but they didn't know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as 'ICE'. Please forward this. It won't take too many 'forwards' before everybody will know about this. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest. For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc. PASS THIS AROUND AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE AS THIS CAN HELP IN AN EMERGENCY"..From the Federal Road Safety Commission . VIDEO: Jay Z Tribute To Nelson Mandela

The late, great Nelson Mandela inspired countless individuals during his lifetime through his courageous actions, and has since been aptly commemorated in his wake. Last night, Jay Z dedicated a live rendition of "Young Forever" to the South African revolutionary at the Los Angeles stop of the "Magna Carter" Tour.
Hov respectfully made this the closing moment of the night at the Staples Center. With some assistance from a live band, the legend in his own right commanded the crowd to sing along with Mr. Hudson's inspiring chorus. Needless to say that they complied by emphatically chanting the lyrics as well.

Additionally, MCs like Nas, 50 Cent, The Game, and tons of others have paid homage to Mandela. Expect the man also known as Madiba and his many accomplishments to be championed by more people in the coming weeks; and justifiably so.

Highlights of Obama's Heartfelt Eulogy For Nelson Mandela

To the people of South Africa - people of every race and walk of life - the world thanks you for sharing Nelson Mandela with us. His struggle was your struggle. His triumph was your triumph.
Born during World War I, far from the corridors of power, a boy raised herding cattle and tutored by elders of his Thembu tribe - Madiba would emerge as the last great liberator of the 20th century.
He was not a bust made of marble; he was a man of flesh and blood - a son and husband, a father and a friend.
Mandela showed us the power of action; of taking risks on behalf of our ideals. Mandela understood the ties that bind the human spirit. There is a word in South Africa - 'Ubuntu' - that describes his greatest gift: his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by sharing ourselves with others, and caring for those around us.
