Two Nigerians Arrested For Armed Robbery Near Ghana's Presidential Palace.


Two Nigerian men have landed in trouble for daylight robbery near the presidential palace in Ghana. The two suspected robbers who have been apprehended - reportedly deflated the tyres of their victim at the Flagstaff House traffic light and snatched GH¢6,000 (0ver 400 thousand naira) he had withdrawn from a bank at Osu.

Apapa Customs Command Records 39% Increase In Revenue

The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has disclosed that it recorded 39 per cent increase in revenue generation in the first five months of this year despite the economic challenges in the country.

The Area Comptroller of the command, Musa Jibrin, who stated this at a media briefing about the command’s activities in the first half of the year, disclosed that it generated a total of N136.3bn between January and May.

He said that the command was ready to facilitate export trade in line with the Federal Government’s effort at diversifying the economy through exportation of agricultural products.

According to him, the command has created a functional examination centre within the APM Terminal to serve as a coordinating centre for all stakeholders in cargo examination at the Apapa Port, in line with the government’s ease of doing business initiative.

South African Communities Give Nigerians Quit Notice


The Nigeria Union in South Africa, on Wednesday claimed that two communities in the country, have asked Nigerians to leave their territories.

President of the union, Ikechukwu Anyene, said the Kuruman community in Northern Cape Province gave Nigerians till Thursday to leave.

Presidency Kicks As CCT Discharges, Acquits Saraki


The Presidency, on Wednesday, described as outrageous and travesty of justice the acquittal of Senate President Bukola Saraki by the Code of Conduct Tribunal, which upheld the no-case submission of the Senate President.

The Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution, Mr. Okoi Obono-Obla, wondered why the CCT dismissed the weight of “overwhelming evidence” against Saraki, who was tried for false asset declaration by the Federal Government.

The CCT in Abuja had discharged and acquitted Saraki of all the 18 charges of false asset declaration and other related offences preferred against him.
