Boko Haram losing grip, says outgoing GOC

Ibadan—The Nigerian Army has said the Islamic fundamentalists, Boko-Haram are already losing their grip, which is causing them to attack soft targets in their recent operations.
According to the outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 2 Div., Nigerian Army, Ibadan, Maj. Gen. S. M. Muazu, hitting soft targets by an enemy in a battle is an indication that the enemy is losing.
The GOC, who spoke with newsmen yesterday at the commissioning of a street name in Letmauck Cantonment, Mokola, Ibadan in honour of Lt. Col. Yakubu  Anifowoshe (retd), said “The insurgents no longer ambush military convoys, they are losing everyday, and now go for soft target.
“They are no longer looking for land to occupy. They are looking for soft targets, it is the nature of war, when you are losing, you go for soft targets. We are calling on the members of public to give us more support,” he said.
