Most Breastmilk Donated' World Record Won By An American Woman

Alicia Richman of Granbury, Tex. has been declared the new Guinness World Record holder for "Most Breastmilk Donated," CBS DFW reports. Between June 2011 and March 2012, The 28-year-old mother of one donated 11,115 ounces -- or 694 pounds -- of breastmilk to charity, according to Guinness. By volume, that's about 87 gallons.

Richman told CBS that after she gave birth in March 2011, she began pumping and storing her milk, and quickly realized she was producing much more than her son could consume.

When two freezers were chock full of pumped milk, Richman contacted the Mothers' Milk Bank of North Texas, an nonprofit that collects bosom milk donations for critically ill and premature infants in need.

Her donations have fed "hundreds, and more likely, thousands of premature babies across the United States," Amy Vickers, executive director of the milk bank, says in a press release.

Richman says she went for the Guinness record because she wanted to raise awareness for the cause and encourage other women to donate to milk banks.

"I'm so thankful that I'm able to help not only my own baby, Drake, but all of the little babies who need it and are sick," Richman told News 8. "It really feels amazing and I'm so thankful that I'm able to do it."

22 year old domestic worker found dead in his boss' swimming pool

22 year old Onyeka Kingley Raphael (pictured above) was found dead in the bottom of a swimming pool in the home he worked as a domestic help. His body was removed early Saturday morning from a house on Babatunde Asimi Street, Ogudu GRA.
His family, suspecting foul play, has petitioned the police, asking for a thorough investigation because when Kingsley's body was removed by policemen from Ogudu police station, eye witnesses said there were no visible injuries on his body except a twisted neck, suggesting that the domestic worker may have been strangled before being dumped in the pool.

What the family also found odd was that the dinner Kingsley made for himself the night before was still on the kitchen table, with his cap near it, and also the fact that the security man who was home at the time of the incident said he didn't see or hear anything. The family also claimed that Kingsley and his boss, a retired accountant named Tunde Williams had a misunderstand a month earlier which almost got Kingsley fired. Kingsley had wanted to leave his job but his elder had begged him to stay because he needed the money for school.
The police promised Kingley's family that an autopsy will be carried out to determine the exact cause of death and told reporters that a thorough investigation will be carried out. The police also mentioned that Mr Williams was so far 'not cooperating with the police'

Lagos: Ripples Of Hurricane Sandy May Hit – Commissioner

The Lagos state government has raised concerns over the imminent ripple effect of the Hurricane Sandy that hit the United States of America and the Caribbean.

At a press conference in Lagos on Tuesdau, the Commissioner for Waterfront and Infrastructure Development, Segun Oniru said experience has shown that whenever hurricane, cyclone or other natural disasters occurred on the American shore, the ripple effects were always felt in Lagos within seven and 14 days period.

“Let Lagosians know what is going on, and what to expect, it is not to create panic; they should be careful around the Ocean and Lagoon. In the last five to six days, around the Caribbean, from Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba Hurricane Sandy has hit those places and has also hit the East Coast of America.

“Normally, when such happens, and when those kinds of magnitude hit that part of the world, we always have a ripple effect in Lagos and around the West Coast of Africa. Our main concern is Lagos; it is a warning, but not to create panic,” he said.

The Commissioner further said that “Lagos lies parallel to the South America part of the world on the map, but super storm Sandy has hit New York City and Atlantic and the West Part.

“That part of the world is northern to us, but we need to note that within the next seven to 14 days, we may get a ripple effect
.

“When the wind starts, the wind turns to a hurricane and then high water level begins to rise because of the wind; imagine throwing water on a glass, it will splash back, so we may have high wave, high water level.

“I advise those who live around the coastline and shoreline to be vigilant and remain calm and if they start seeing storms like the one that occurred on 17 of August this year, they should stay off the Atlantic. It’s a warning to those on the Coastline.”

Colombia Rebel Ambush Kills Six Officers

President Juan Manuel Santos
Six Colombian police officers have been killed while on patrol in the south-west of the country in an ambush blamed on left-wing rebels, officials say.
The officers were shot dead in Cauca province by suspected Farc guerrillas, local police said.
The killings come as the Colombian government and the Farc prepare for the next stage in peace talks, due to get under way next week in Cuba, reports Reuters.
The talks began earlier this month in Norway but there has been no ceasefire.
President Juan Manuel Santos has said he wants to avoid the mistake of the previous peace talks in the late 1990s, when the rebels were given control of a vast demilitarised zone and used the opportunity to regroup.
The latest peace attempt, the first direct contact in a decade, was formally launched in Oslo on 18 October.
The two sides are due to hold preparatory meetings in Havana next week, with the negotiations proper beginning on 15 November.
The talks are due to focus on five key areas: the end of armed conflict; land reform; guarantees for the exercise of political opposition and citizen participation; drug trafficking; and the rights of the victims of the conflict.
The number of Farc combatants is now believed to be some 8,000, down from 16,000 a decade ago.

Disabled beggar donates ”widow’s mite” to flood victims

A middle aged Nigerian beggar, identified as Simon Ozoemena, has stunned government officials in Anambra state, eastern Nigeria, by making a donation of N30,000 to the flood victims in the state.
Ozoemena, from Nibo in Awka South Local Government Area, of the state gave the “widow’s mite” during a joint meeting of the state flood disaster relief committee in Awka, the state capital.
The meeting was attended by officials of the state government, camp coordinating committees and the council chairmen of the affected areas.
The beggar, who said he solicited for alms in churches, said he was moved by the plight of the victims.
“They were better-off than me before the incident”, he said.
“I decided to make this humble donation because I was touched that people had to relocate to camps because of the flood, leaving the comfort of their homes. I heard the state government’s appeal on radio and called one of the contact numbers; the person responded very well to me and asked me to come to their meeting today.
“I beg for money mostly from churches and I decided to remove N30,000 from the proceeds to support government’s effort, to reduce their suffering,” Ozoemena said.
Prof. Chinyere Okunna, commissioner for Economic planning and budget who received the donation on behalf of the state government, described the gesture as “highly” emotional and a good omen for the flood victims.
“It is a very emotional moment; the state government is deeply moved by this singular act of charity, especially from someone who depends solely on charity.
“Honestly, a N30,000 donation from a physically challenged beggar is worth more than N1,000,000 donation from an able bodied person.
“We are really impressed and positively challenged to continue the good work we are doing,” she said.
Okunna reiterated the promise that the donations would be judiciously used.
Mr Chinedu Obidigwe, the Council Chairman, Anambra East Local Government, said the major problem facing the people displaced by the flood was their rehabilitation as flood recedes.
“The major tasks include the resettling of the victims, rebuilding their homes, providing soft loans for them to go back to farm and the revival of health facilities in the area.
“I must commend the proactive response of the state government in tackling this disaster, they have done really well,” Obidigwe said.
The chairman said that there were no reported cases of death, rape, robbery and outbreak of diseases in the five camps in his council area.
The camps are located in Umuede, Ifite Ogwari, Igbaku, Fr. Joseph Memorial High school and Unity Primary School.

James Bond Blends Old, New Charms as 007 Turns 50

A still from the new Bond Skyfall movie

NEW CHARMS
Makers of the new James Bond movie "Skyfall" have striven to combine the old-school values that made 007 such a success over the last 50 years with enough modern mores to keep the silver screen's favourite super spy relevant in a post-Cold War world.
The 23rd official Bond film, which has its royal world premiere in London on Tuesday, brings together Daniel Craig on his third outing on Her Majesty's secret service with British director Sam Mendes making his franchise debut, reports Reuters.
The plot also puts veteran actress Judi Dench, 77, at the heart of the action as Bond's superior M, and introduces Spanish Oscar-winner Javier Bardem as an uncharacteristically flamboyant villain complete with dyed blond hair.
Marking 50 years after the first Bond film "Dr. No" premiered on London in 1962, Skyfall pays homage to Bond's gadgets, his taste in fast cars and beautiful women and introduces enough humour to lighten the tone.
But it also seeks to show why the modern Bond is still relevant in a world where technology is as important to international spy networks as human beings.
"He was a product of his time and we live in a different time and I hope this movie reflects the time we live in," Mendes told reporters at a recent publicity briefing.
He said the film served to answer questions about the relevance of Britain's foreign intelligence agency (MI6) and the Bond character now that the Cold War is over.
"We are talking about old values, which is what the movie argues for -- honour, trust, friendship, courage -- and in a way it is deeply old fashioned in its values," Mendes said.
The tension between current intelligence gathering methods which rely more on satellites and computer hacking than Bond's traditional sleuthing approach adds a degree of tension to the 23rd outing for the fictional spy character created by author Ian Fleming, Craig told Reuters in an interview.
"Bond is very much within the old camp, which is that you have got to go and look people in the eye and ask them questions directly. And there we have the clash of the worlds," Craig said.
In Skyfall, which features a new theme song performed by Adele, Bond travels between Istanbul, Shanghai and London as his loyalty to M is tested when her past comes back to haunt her, while MI6 comes under attack from an unknown threat.
Craig as the modern Bond gives the audience snippets of vulnerability that counter the all-knowing cockiness of past Bonds. In Skyfall, he quickly learns he is dispensable, growing older and forced to face the ghosts of his childhood.
"He is a complicated character and that is worth looking at," the 44-year-old Craig said, adding that even after his first Bond outing, "Casino Royale", and then "Quantum of Solace", released four years ago, he was still discovering the layers of Bond.
"I try to sort of hint at it, as opposed to exploring it."
Bond's famed smooth charm, and his willingness to use women for personal gratification have earned him his fair share of critics over the years. But fans will still recognize the Bond of old, Craig said.
"Women are there to satisfy him, I think he still believes that. But if we put strong women in front of him, then there is going to be some friction.
"But I kind of have to cling onto his chauvinism a bit, because I think it makes things more interesting."
Audiences can't "be too PC about it," said Craig, "It's a gag. Everybody has got the gag for this long. We understand the gag. It's about making sparks, you want sparks. Death is sexy. Danger is sexy. It's all about getting those elements into it."
The pressure of marking the 50th anniversary of one of cinema's most recognisable characters and valuable properties was pushed to the background during filming, according to Craig.
This year has already seen exhibitions, auctions, a documentary and plenty of merchandising to mark the cultural phenomenon that is Bond.
The film suffered a delay due to financial troubles at studio MGM, allowing for several script rewrites.
"It was in the back of our minds," Craig said, adding that the joke on set was that Skyfall might be a huge flop spelling the end of the franchise after five decades.
Instead, the movie tries to emulate the slick costume design and style of those 1960s Bond films, including bringing back the Aston Martin DB5.
"I remember going to see Bond movies and being transported somewhere and that was what we aimed for on this," Craig said. "It picks up things from those early movies."
Critics in Britain have praised "American Beauty" director Mendes for stronger characters and letting dramatic moments in the film breathe.
The film is released in Britain on Friday and on November 4 in the United States. The 22 Bond films have made around $5 billion at the box office.
Like the franchise, Craig said he will be "pushing 50" when he has completed the next two Bond films under his contract and promised to "completely" call it quits.
In the meantime, "If you find yourself being bored of playing James Bond, then you are really ready to give up," he said

THE KARDASHIANS MAY BE SUED OVER TRADEMARK INFRINGEMENT

From reality show, clothing line, eyewear and now to a make-up line. The Kardashians no doubt are doing well for themselves (even though I don't know how much all those are raking in). But there's a small snag in their latest venture- Kroma make-up.

A man named Michael Rey, the co-owner of a certain Chroma Makeup in Beverly Hills is mad at them and he isn't mincing his words. Their offence? The reality show stars are infringing on his trade name; Chroma. Even though the first letters of the controversial name are not the same.

According to him, it took 12 years to build his business and get an A-list clientele, he isn't going to watch the Kardashians cheapen his products, cause confusion in the marketplace and probably soil all he's laboured for. Whew!

Although he's not yet queried the Khardashians, he's fully prepared to take legal actions against them if they don't change the name. He's already writing letters to his customers that Chroma is not associated with the Khardashian's "low-budget cosmetic products".

Army nabs 3 fake soldiers, cable vandals

Abia - The Forward Operation Base (FOB), 144 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, Aba, Abia, said on Monday that it had arrested three suspected fake soldiers.

The suspects were nabbed for stealing NITEL underground cables.

Capt. Chris Nwogu, the Officer-in-Charge of the base, told newsmen in Aba on Monday, that the suspects included a dismissed lance corporal from the Army Headquarters Garrison, Abuja and a civilian.

Nwogu said the suspects paraded themselves as soldiers.

He said a man who claimed to be a cadet with a fake Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) identity card was also arrested.

Nwogu said the suspects were part of the syndicate which had been dragging the image of the military in the mud by their nefarious acts.

``We are advising unsuspecting Nigerians to be at alert. These men would wear the military uniform to rob and perpetrate all sorts of crimes.

``If you see the uniforms, you will wonder if this man wants to open his own army. One of them was even seen with army garrison headquarters’ cap. You will think they are real soldiers. Now nemesis has caught up with them,” he said.

Nwogu said that on interrogation, the suspects confessed to dealing on fake military kit.

He said that the items recovered from them included 18 pairs of trousers, 45 face caps, 6 singlets, 8 top jackets and 15 bags.

The others are 5 jungle hats, military shorts, 24 small belts, 3 stamps, ink pads and 3 T- shirts.

He said that the suspects would be handed over to the State Security Services (SSS).

Nwogu said the menace was part of the challenges confronting the military and urged the public to be vigilant about such persons.

Parading the cable vandals, Nwogu said they were arrested at Brass Street, Aba and had made confessional statements which led to the arrest of buyers of the stolen items, while others were still at large.

According to him, investigations show that one of them has once been arrested by the police and later released but relapsed to crime.

Nwogu advised criminals to abandon their nefarious activities and engage in lawful ventures, to be useful to themselves and the society.

``They should know that crime does not pay. The long arms of the law must catch up with them,” he said.

Two die in failed jailbreak

AT least two inmates of Federal Prisons in the Ahaoda West Local Govrnment Area of Rivers State have been shot dead by security operatives while attempting to escape from the prison.
Our correspondent learnt on Sunday that the two inmates attempted to escape through the ceiling before they were stopped by policemen.
It was further learnt that other inmates, who sensed that security agents had been alerted, immediately retreated.
The incident, which occurred at about 5pm on Saturday, caused panic on the prisons premises.
A prison source, who confided in our correspondent, said, “An attempted jailbreak has occurred at Federal Prisons in Ahoada on 27th October, 2012 at about 1700hrs.
“The inmates had attempted breaking out unlawfully from custody when men of Ahoada Police Area Command and personnel of other security agencies were alerted and swiftly mobilised to the scene and cordoned off the perimeter fence of the prison.
“Consequently, the escaping inmates retreated to the confines of the prisons. Two inmates who tried to escape through the ceiling were shot at to prevent their escape,” a source stated.
It was also learnt that some prison inmates were relocated from Bayelsa State to the prisons in Ahaoda, a situation that sparked a protest by the inmates in the area.
Some of the inmates had capitalised on the rowdy situation within the prison in Ahaoda West to make the escape attempt.
The Controller of Port Harcourt Prisons, Mr. Jerome Babalola, who spoke in a telephone interview with THE PUNCH, said the information at his disposal was sketchy, promising to react to the issue tomorrow (Monday).
Babalola said, “By tomorrow, I will speak on the issue. Investigation is still on and the information we have is sketchy.
“You know it is not good to say one thing today and say another one tomorrow. One has to get his facts before speaking on matters like this.”
Confirming the incident on Sunday, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ben Ugwuegbulam, explained that two inmates were killed during an attempt to escape from the prison.
Ugwuegbulam disclosed that the situation had since been brought under control. “Ahoada Police Area Command swiftly mobilised to the scene and, together with other security agencies, cordoned off the entire perimeter of the prisons.
“Consequently, the escaping inmates retreated to the confines of the prisons. Two of the inmates that tried escaping through the ceiling were shot at to prevent their escape and were fatally wounded in the process,” he said.

Teenage girl killed by policemen is buried

Lucy
Family of Lucy Ukpong, the 18-year-old sales girl killed by some policemen in Apo, Abuja on October 12, have said nothing short of justice will be acceptable to them.
This is just as Lucy was buried amid tears at Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State on Saturday.
PUNCH Metro had reported on Friday that the police authorities had pleaded with the family to accept an amicable settlement of the matter.
But Lucy’s uncle, Tony Ukpong, who spoke with our correspondent in Etinan on Saturday, insisted that the family was more interested in justice.
Although he acknowledged that the police had made entreaties to the family, he said family members were still meeting and had yet to decide whether to dialogue with the police authorities or not.
Tony said, “Justice must be done because the way Lucy was killed is not acceptable to us; we demand justice and nothing less.
“We have no demand but we want to go into a dialogue. We have not stated any of our demands. Negotiation is ongoing within the family that is the best I can tell you.”
Meanwhile, the National Coordinator, Greater Gbagyi Development Initiative, Gbaiza Gimba, has said the organisation will not allow the matter to be swept under the carpet.
Gimba, who spoke with our correspondent after the burial, said the group took interest in the matter in line with its principle that justice must be done to aggrieved parties.
“We believe that Lucy died for justice. We shall be ready to give her justice. Whatever the situation, we will be talking with our leaders, our traditional institutions in making sure that justice is done to ameliorate the suffering of the son that she left behind,” he said.
He blamed police brutality on bad leadership, adding that the leaders had abdicated their responsibility.
Gimba observed that in developed countries, policemen use rubber bullets to disperse crowd during civil unrest, wondering why the Nigeria Police always use live bullets to disperse protesters.
He said, “In crisis, police were supposed to go with teargas, but because there is no control over issues by the government, that is why anything can happen in this country.
“If police are shooting, they might be telling us that they are shooting to defend themselves, but it is not within our power to say this is how it should go. We will continue to make sure that the right things are done for justice to be given to whom it is taken away from.”
A sympathiser, Okon Tom, said the killing had also shown that the police were not for the masses but for the rich and privileged members of the society.
He called on civil society groups to ensure that justice was done to Lucy by identifying and bringing the killers to justice.
Lucy, a sales girl at a photography shop, was hit in the chest by bullets fired by policemen from the FTC Special Anti-robbery Squad on October 12. She had only spent one month on her job before the incident.
The policemen claimed they had come to enforce the order on demolition of illegal structures by officials of the development control department of Abuja Metropolitan Council.
But the policemen, according to findings, were on illegal duty as the council had denied sending them to enforce the order.
Lucy’s remains were buried on Saturday at 1.13pm at her family’s compound on Udo Inyang Street, Etinan. Apart from her parents, she also left a son, Devine Godswill, behind.

Mother-of-Two Breastfeeds Her Dog in Front of Her Kids to "Feel Complete" and Like a Better Mom

A 44-year-old mother of two who couldn't breastfeed her children has now turned to a rather unorthodox way of fulfilling her maternal desire by breastfeeding her 9-year-old daughter's pug, Spider, to make her feel like a better mom.

In a frank interview, Terri Graham told the UK edition of Closer magazine that she knows people might brand her a "freak" but she insisted that her breastfeeding nourishes the family dog and makes her feel like a better mother.
"I'm finally getting the breastfeeding experience I missed out on with the children," Graham told Closer magazine. "Having Spider suckle on my boob means I finally feel complete and a better mother."
"Her tongue tickles and I do feel her teeth but she latches on in a way that they don't hurt me," she said when reporters asked her if breastfeeding Spider hurt.
Graham, who is originally from California, said that the dog developed a taste for breast milk after licking the nipple of a bottle she had pumped for her then-newborn son in 2010, and that she has been feeding her dog ever since.
She said that Spider was the runt of the little and was underweight when she first came into the family. The veterinarian had suggested that the dog be fed specialty food.  While the dog refused to eat food the vet prescribed, she quickly took to Graham's breast milk.
"I breastfeed Spider in front of the kids and they think it's amazing," Graham told the magazine.
Closer interviewed a psychologist who told the magazine that Graham should seek therapy.
However, Graham isn't the first woman to admit to breastfeeding her dog.
According to Inquisitr.com, a British woman named Suzanna Morgan said she gave her dog, Dixie, a bottle of breast milk she had pumped to get her pet to stop barking when no dog food was left in the house.
"'What's the worst that can happen?' I said, grabbing one of the bottles and pouring it in her bowl. Dixie sniffed her bowl, and in no time at all, she'd lapped it up. I started to wonder," Morgan said according to Inquisitr.com.
"Was I the only one who fed breast milk to a dog? I got on the internet, and within minutes I'd found no end of women who'd breastfed dogs, cats, even pigs. A lot of them didn't just pour the milk into their pet's bowls, they let them suckle at their breasts, too," she said.
After the first time, Morgan had reportedly said that she began feeding her 17-month-old daughter from her left breast and her dog, Dixie, on her right breast. Afterwards, she said she disinfected herself.
"Dixie, Tasha and I are happy, so you can think what you like, but I reckon you shouldn't knock it 'til you've tried it," Morgan said.

Nigerian stowawy found dead in Arik Air's undercarriage

The dead body of a young Nigerian man was discovered yesterday Friday October 26th in the wheel well, the undercarriage compartment of an Arik Air aircraft, after it returned from a flight to New York, United States.

One of the airline’s officials who spoke to ThisDay said the deceased might have hidden himself in the wheel well for days and was crushed to death while the flight was airborne to the JF Kennedy Airport, New York, from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The official who spoke to THISDAY said the dead body was found during a check on the aircraft panel as it was being prepared for another flight and that the undercarriage compartment of the Airbus A340-500 is big enough to accommodate a person, besides the space for the tyres.
"He probably might have hidden himself there some days and died while the aircraft was on its way to New York. We found him when we were doing checks on the panel; the aircraft probably came back with him dead," the official said.
The source said that it is out of ignorance that people hide in the wheel well and plan to stowaway because "the compartment is not pressurised like the cabin of an aircraft and it is not heated, so survival is rare even if the person is not crushed by the wheels."
Pilots and aeronautical engineers familiar with the wheel well compartment said it is roomy enough to contain a human being, but it is highly unlikely that any one who hid there would come out alive after a flight that took several hours due to lack of oxygen.
The official attributed the incident to porous security at the airport, noting that "if having access to the airside is stringently prohibited, anybody that is not an official of airlines, handling companies and Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria would not gain access to the tarmac."
Another source said: "The security at the airport is very bad and that explains why somebody can gain access to the airside and inside the aircraft and no one will know.
Security around the cargo area is even worse and from there anybody can take anything into the tarmac. Now, it is a human being that is smuggled in; one day a dangerous object will be smuggled in."
THISDAY investigations revealed that stowaways connive with ground handling companies to access the airside and the wheel well.
"The handling company workers and the security operatives indulge in a lot of illicit activities at the airport and over the years there have been efforts to put a check on such excesses but every effort has so far failed," said another source.

Wizkid, Davido cause stir @Headies

Davido and Wizkid
The sixth edition of the annual Hip Hop World Awards aka Headies was staged last Saturday in Lagos to a rousing excitement. The programme, which was slated for 7 pm, did not kick off until midnight. It ended by 4 am.
Many of those who won awards at the event were conspicuously absent, except for Inyanya, Vector, Chuddy K, Wizkid, Brymo, Davido, and Ty Mix.
The event witnessed performances from various dance groups like Chidinma, Bez, Chuddy K, Dammy Krane and Burna Boy. Dammy missed his steps during his performance and almost caused a stir. Davido, EME All Star, and a moving vocal performance of Great Nation by Timi Dakolo, besides hilarous moments from Omawumi and MI, who jointly compeered the event, added colour to the event.
It was quite touching to see Wizkid pause on his way to the backstage to hug and pump fists with Davido and his crew at their front row seats. The gesture, no doubt, put an end to the rumour that both artistes were not on speaking terms.
A few minutes before then, Davido, who dedicated his awards to his late mother, came close to shedding tears as he performed the hit song, Damiduro, on stage.
“I almost shed tears on the stage when suddenly I recalled the unnecessary envy and attacks I had suffered lately. I asked myself why all that beef on me? I just happened to be the son of a rich man. I have love in my heart for everyone. I cannot hurt a fly and that’s why I was overwhelmed with emotions on stage,” he told LIFE&BEAT.
While Modenine was presenting the 2012 award to Vector, he said to the latter, “I heard you’d like to step into my shoes.”
Vector answered with a smile, “Yes, I use size 12.”
Modenine said, “Sorry, I wear size 14.”
Then Vector said jokingly, “Ha, bros, if your shoe size is 14, I pity your wife.”
A day earlier, at the same venue, the organiser of the award, and MTN, hosted the veterans of the music industry in Orlando Julius, Fatai Rolling Dollar, Dele Abiodun, Shina Peters, Felix Lebarty, Onyeka Onwenu, Stella Monye, Orits Wiliki, Salawa Abeni, Daddy Showky, Daddy Fresh, Baba Fryo, Mike Okri and host of others to a night of nostalgia, applause and celebration of the past.

We Have No Hand In Our Mum’s Death – Psquare React To Accusations Of Sacrificing Mum For Fame

We Have No Hand In Our Mum’s Death – Psquare React To Accusations Of Sacrificing Mum For Fame

This news is strange! Even a whiff of the rumor, I never heard or read of anywhere. For anyone to begin to insinuate that multi-platinum selling duo of Peter and Paul Okoye, popularly known as Psquare sacrificed their mother for whatever reason, is the height of irresponsibility and madness. As far as we know, they’ve attained the height of success even before their mom took ill and eventually passed away.

Here’s an excerpt of their reaction to the rumour:

How do you feel about your mum’ s death?
We feel so bad to know that our mum is no more. But who are we to question the Almighty God. Traditionally, we are supposed to bury her and not the other way round. It is just that it happened so soon.. Indeed, her death was a big blow to us.

It was rumoured that you people knew what happened to her?
Then, it is too bad to hear that people are accusing us of being responsible for our mum’s death. We are not blaming anybody. People are free to say what they want to say. We begin to wonder whether  there is anything that will ever make us to go for the life of our beloved mother.
Her life cannot be quantified in terms of money or fame. So, our answer to this question is that we have no hand in our mum’s death. We only blame the death that snatched her away from us if not so, people won’t be pointing accusing fingers at us. She died after a brief illness.

Aside your mum’s death, there was another rumour that you guys have joined Illuminati?
We are short of words. Why would anybody say such things about us? Well, the fact remains that we do not belong to any secret cult,  whether  Illuminati or anything you call it. We owe our achievements and everything that is happening to us to Almighty God.

Honda Fit She's Made Exclusively For Women

Japan-based car maker Honda has released a unique car model that is aimed exclusively at women; the first automaker to do so. Appropriately named the Honda Fit She's, the car sports lots of pink and is embezzled with quirky extra's that are perfect for a lady.

Going for an all around style of "adult cute", Honda decided to make pink the sole color inside and outside of the car. With an all metallic pink exterior, the interior is adorned with pink stitching everywhere from the steering wheel and seats to the floor mats and shifter. There is also pink metallic metal around all of the displays and controls.

If that is not girly enough for you, there is also an adorable little heart in place of the apostrophe in the "She's" logo at the back of the car that is also complete in about 3 shades of pink.

Of course if pink isn't your color, the car also comes in shades of brown and white.

Pink isn't the only women-geared idea that Honda has put into the car. They also thought of a special windshield glass that protects from an amazing 99% of UV rays as well as an air conditioning system called "Plasmacluster" that can apparently improve skin quality.

Priced at $17,500 the Honda Fit She's is hoping to be attractive to women in Japan who are just now starting to enter the workforce despite previous years of being forced to stay home.

Governor Amaechi Buys $50 Million Bombardier Jet, Amid State’s Flood Disaster

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has acquired a brand new Bombardier Global 5000 (N565RS) for his exclusive use, SaharaReporters has learnt.

Mr. Amaechi’s lavish new “toy” comes at a time hundreds of thousands of residents in his state are displaced by the worst flooding crisis in the state’s history.

The newly purchased jet left Montreal-Trudeau Airport in Montreal, Quebec to Dakar Yoff International Airport. And then it was delivered to the state government on October 7th 2012.

The jet was primarily purchased from Bombardier in Canada for $45.7 million through the Bank of Utah Trustee account. “This is an ungodly act,” said a Port Harcourt-based human rights campaigner. “Why should Governor Amaechi’s priority be to acquire a jet at a time the state is experiencing the worst flooding in its history, leaving many Rivers indigenes homeless?” he added.

Last year Mr. Amaechi traded off the state’s current Embraer Legacy 600 claiming it was too expensive to maintain. There were also unconfirmed claims that the jet was struck by lightning.

The oil-rich Rivers State already owns an AW139 helicopter which it leased to Aero Contractors. The state then turned around to patronize Aero’s VIP Sikorsky S76C helicopter at a cost one critic described as “exorbitant and unjustified.”

Last year, the state government sold its Dash 8-Q200 aircraft to Cross River State for $6 million. Cross River State then leased the plane to Aero Contractors to undertake commercial flights to and from Obudu airstrip in the state.

University Cultists Force Female Students To Act Lesbian Film

The Nigerian Army in Enugu has paraded 21 Enugu State University of Science and Technology students for allegedly torturing and forcing some female students to have stuff among themselves.
The students, most of who confessed to being cultists, told journalists that they took video shots of the l├ęsbian act because they had been offered money by some influential Nigerians.
The idea, the suspects said, was to take tapes of the scenes to their partners in Europe.
Shortly before parading the suspects on Saturday, the General Officer Commanding 82 Division, Maj. Gen. Sarkin Yaki Bello, who spoke through the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Lt. Col. Sagir Musa, said the cultists, were arrested in their hideouts at Agbani on the outskirts of Enugu between July 8 and 12, 2011.
Bello said the patrol team of 103 Battalion moved to the ESUT following persistent gunshots at the institution on July 4 and arrested one of the masterminds of the crime, Mr Franklin Anikwe, with five rounds of ammunition.
The GOC said he had directed that a thorough investigation be carried out in order to fish out the pepetrators.
He said, “It was the preliminary investigation conducted by the division’s intelligence group that led to the arrest of the 19 other suspects. Some of the items recoverd from them are four locally made pistols, 10AA cartridges and video clips where the female students were forced to have illicit stuff with themselves during the raid.”
Also recovered were 10 mobile telephone handsets, including the one used for recording the dirty scenes
